Purpose:

The National Assembly for Wales’ Children, Young People and Education Committee undertook an inquiry into supply teaching. The report (PDF, 1.2MB) on the Committee’s inquiry was published on 16 December 2015. The Welsh Government’s response (PDF, 309KB) to the Committee’s report was published on 3 February 2016.

Survey

As part of the inquiry, the Committee also wanted to learn about whether the use of supply teachers affected pupils, and if it did, what impact it has. The Committee undertook surveys for young people and for parents and carers. A summary of the survey results (PDF, 956KB) was also published on 16 December 2015.

Notes the report of the Children, Young People and Education Committee on the inquiry into Supply Teaching, which was laid in the Table Office on 16 December 2015.

The response by the Welsh Government was laid on 3 February 2016.

The motion was agreed in accordance with Standing Order 12.36.
